British Council launches ‘Dakchyata- TEVT Practical Partnership’

Kathmandu, Oct 25 (RSS)- The British Council Nepal has launched a new project ‘Dakchyata: TEVT Practical Partnership’ aimed at bringing reforms in Nepal’s technical and vocational education.
Under the four-year project supported by the European Union (EU) and coordinated by the Education Ministry and the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training, technical education and training courses will be run for the target organisations working in the areas of agriculture, construction and tourism and technical human resources.
At a press meet here today, project team chief Sean Curley said the specific objective of such courses is to create better job employment opportunities within the country, suggesting that Nepal should increase investment in human capital to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic development.
The total budget of the project launched as per the tri-partite agreement reached in last December is 20.61 million euros.
