Kathmandu, Dec 10 – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government was always committed to protecting human rights.

At a programme organized by the National Human Rights Commission on the occasion of the 69th International Human Rights Day, Deuba said that democracy would be strengthened only if the human rights were ensured.

PM Deuba also pledged full support for the NHRC for the implementation of its recommendations.
Likewise, he praised the NHRC for the monitoring works carried out for the protection of human rights, adding that the government would prioritize the development of the physical infrastructures for the NHRC.
Similarly, NHRC Chairman Anup Raj Sharma wished for the end to impunity and establishment of good governance in the country.
