Actress Deepa Shree reveals vegan lifestyle keeping her fit and fine

Kathmandu, Dec 19 – Our diet and lifestyle play a vital role in determining our overall life ranging from mental attitude to physical health, said noted Nepali cine artist and director Deepa Shree Niraula.

Her personal experiences are that meditation and vegetarian diet changed her mental outlook, benefiting her physical health as well. She believed that it has helped her stay fit and fine.

The actress of the ‘Tito Satya’ fame was sharing her experiences at the ‘Veg Dinner with Celebrity programme’ organized by the Nepal Vegetarian Association (NVA) in the capital recently.

Niraula was interested in meditation since her early life and had to struggle to remain concentrated while practicing it. Some of her colleagues suggested her to change her dietary habits and give priority to vegetarian foods if she really wanted to focus on meditation.

Bearing their ‘priceless’ suggestion in mind, she started adopting vegetarian lifestyle and her choices of menu was changed ‘forever’, as she said.

In her own words, she started feeling refreshed and rejuvenated with the quitting of non-vegetarian foods. “I started to feel refreshed and rejuvenated by heart once my choices for food were changed.”

NVA is a non-profit organization supporting vegetarian food consumption, said its vice chair Krishna Gurung, adding that various sorts of NVA ‘s regular programmes like ‘veg dinner with celebrity’, hiking and sanitation campaigns aim to encourage people to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle for a ‘sound mind’ and ‘sound health’.
