32 airlines companies reluctant to pay arrears

Kathmandu, Jan 18 – Thirty-two domestic and foreign airlines companies which are no longer in operation are disinclined to pay Rs 113 million 964 thousand 973 they owe to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

The CAAN Tribhuvan International Airport office has directed these companies to pay their arrears.

According to CAAN, Auatrian Airlines has arrears of Rs 43 thousand 600, Burma Airways Rs 186 thousand 850, Lufthansa Air Rs 163 thousand 644 and the Gulf Air Rs 2 million 708 thousand 777.

Similarly, Air Sahara has not paid arrears of Rs 2 million 478 thousand 126, Bahrain Air Rs 2 million 463 thousand 371, the Orient Thai Airlines Rs 589 thousand 813, Pakistan Airlines Rs 2 million 684 thousand 238, Singapore Airlines Rs 558 thousand 128 and Kingfisher Airlines Rs 11 million 597 thousand 562.

Likewise, other foreign airlines companies yet to pay arrears include GMG Airlines (Rs 159 thousand 101), United Air Adiuf (Rs 3,530), the United Airways (Rs 106 thousand 555) and Tui Airlines (Rs 958 thousand 498), Hong Kong Express (Rs 1 million 962 thousand 978). These companies are yet to pay the charges for using the airport.

According to CAAN, Yak Airways is yet to pay arrears Rs 183 thousand 772 and the Skyline Airways Rs 733 thousand 280.
