Pakistani PM Abbasi arrives, Finance Minister receives him at TIA

Kathmandu, March 5 -Prime of Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, arrived here this afternoon on a two-day official visit.

The Pakistani Prime Minister arrived here to congratulate Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli on his appointment on the post of Prime Minister on February 15.

Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada and Foreign Secretary Shankerdas Bairagi received him at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

He landed at TIA on a special aircraft of the Pakistani Army. From the airport, he straightly left for the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where he is staying, for a rest.

A contingent of Nepal Army is presenting a guard of honour to the Pakistani Prime Minister at Tundikhel today itself. During the visit, the Pakistani Prime Minister will call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Shital Niwas tomorrow. He is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Oli this evening. Likewise, Prime Minister Oli is hosting a dinner in honour of the visiting dignitary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Before paying a courtesy call on the Head-of-the-State, he will meet with CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He will leave for home tomorrow.
