CPN’s first standing committee meeting concludes

Kathmandu, June 16 – The first standing committee meeting of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar today under the chairmanship of party chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and in the presence of party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

According to a press statement issued by the party spokesperson, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, chair duo Oli and Dahal stressed on strengthening the party organization in all levels after assimilating the optimism and positive aspirations seen among the cadres.

The meeting has termed that the unification was historical and extraordinary therefore it should be translated into action. The chair duo also directed and appealed all the leaders and cadres for the same. The meeting decided to finalize the unification of other organizations.

The press statement further reads that the government’s activities had positive remarks in the people’s level therefore party leaders and cadres should reach the messages to the people’s accordingly.
On the occasion, Party general secretary Bishnu Poudel briefed about the progress of unification of party organizations. The meeting also held discussions on the report of taskforce formed to draft the party regulations under the convenorhip of general secretary Poudel.

It is stated that the standing committee members will give suggestions over the draft of the proposal within 10 days and the party secretariat will pass the draft after incorporating the suggestions of the SC members within 15 days.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli and Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali briefed about the preparations regarding the PM Oli’s upcoming visit to China. They also shared that the preparations regarding the visit was being carried out positively, and that the visit would be historically successful.
