Austria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, UK’s Minister of State pay courtesy call on PM Oli

Kathmandu, Feb 22 – Visiting Karin Kneissl, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Austria and Mark Lancaster, Minister of State for the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom on Friday separately paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at latter’s official residence in Baluwatar.
During the meeting, the leader duo lauded incumbent government’s policies, planning and programmes for socio-economic development of the country. They also referred to the successful conclusion of three-tier elections of the country.
The meeting between PM Oli and Foreign Affairs Minister Kneissl focused on the exchange of discussions on affairs of regional and international importance, said PM’s Foreign Affairs advisor Dr Rajan Bhattarai. The subjects of attracting Austrian investment to Nepal and strengthening relations between the two countries were also discussed.


On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli and British State Minister discussed on bilateral affairs and the Prime Minister thanked the UK for its continuous support in Nepal’s development endeavours, said Dr Bhattarai.
Prime Minister Oli also talked about increasing Nepal-UK Trade, active participation of UK in investment conference to be organised on April.
The Finance Minister is now in UK to hold discussion with British industrialists and government in order to collect support for the same, added PM Oli.
Prime Minister Oli also urged the British State Minister to be positive for addressing the problems of British Gurkha Army.
In response, the State Minister said that the British government has wanted to resolve the problems by forming a technical committee, added Dr Bhattarai.
