Biratnagar, March 12 – Nepal Communist Party Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he discussed with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli about a reshuffle in the cabinet.
The dialogue was aimed at expediting the government’s functioning although the task is within PM’s jurisdictions, he said talking to media-persons at Biratnagar airport on Tuesday. “The government’s one year performance is satisfactory,” he said referring to the development of many physical infrastructures and the formulation of laws. Dismissing the accusation that the federal government seized the rights of provincial government, he clarified that all seven provinces have been equipped with power and rights as stated in the new constitution.
On the signing of peace agreement with CK Raut, the former Prime Minister said it was positive that CK Raut, who was advocating secessionism, has joined the mainstream politics. He also urged all political parties not to cast doubt on the 11-point agreement between the government and Raut. There was a consensus within the NCP leadership too to this agreement, he said.
On party unification, the NCP chair said talks were held in this regard at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday morning, and the matter would be sorted out within two to three days. “We do not have any dispute. The party is functioning in agreement,” he said.
NCP Chair Dahal arrived in Biratnagar to inaugurate the fifth edition of the SAFF Women’s Championship football tournament that began here on Tuesday.
