Kathmandu, Jan 19 – In order to help collect some financial assistance for ailing pop singer Om Bikram Bista, a cultural and musical programme is being organized in Virginia of the United States of America (USA) on Saturday.
The veteran singer is suffering from kidney disease and waiting urgent transplant of both kidneys.
The programme is being held under the banner of the International Nepalis Artist Society in Virginia aiming to fundraise for the treatment of ‘pop king’ Bista, Deepak Sharma shared from the Washington DC, USA.
Artistes Saroj Khanal, Reema Bishowkarma, Nisha Adhikari, Shivahari Poudel, Kiran Pratap KC and many others would perform in the event, it is said.
Sharma said that a large number of Nepalis living in and around Washington DC are expected to attend the programme this Saturday.
Likewise, Bista himself will join the programme and the fund collected would be handed over to him after the cultural and musical show.
Bista, who began his musical career some four decades ago, has sung more than 200 songs including pop, modern, national and hymns.
Prior to this, such cultural programmes were also held in some other cities of the US.
