Kathmandu, Jan 23 – A total of 83 persons have filed their candidacy for the member of the National Assembly, to which the election is being held on February 7.
According to the Election Commission, there are 26 women, 14 Dalit, 15 disabled/minority and 28 from other categories fielding themselves in the election.
Similarly, Province No 1 has 12 candidates, 9 from Province No 2, 17 from Province No 3, 12 from Province No 4, 11 from Province No 5, 12 from Province No 6, and 10 from Province No 7.
District court judges have been assigned as election officers to conduct the National Assembly election.
There are 2056 voters for 56-member National Assembly.
